Quattro de Mayo

UPDATE January 2012: www.quattrodemayo.com is now live!

Quattro de Mayo 2012 is only 6 months away. So, request time off work and find a pet-sitter, because this is one event you won’t want to miss. We’ve already began planning for QDM 2012 and will be making some very exciting announcements in the coming weeks. We’ve got new routes, a new venue, new memorabilia and a new website for 2012.

Quattro de Mayo

So, for those of you who haven’t experienced Quattro de Mayo, it is a four day social driving event. During the day, we tackle some of the funnest roads in the country, with some of the greatest views. In the evenings, new friendships are formed as we exchange stories, win prizes and enjoy the scenery. Can’t make it all four days? No problem!

Here’s what people said about Quattro de Mayo 2011:

  • “Weekend of driving and socializing with old and new friends.”
  • “Great event spent driving some of the prettiest roads in America enhanced by the opportunity to share the time and experience with family and friends.”
  • “It is a family reunion where everybody drives the same kind of car! A way to have fun with your car on a weekend getaway where everything is first class but not expensive. A chance to meet nice people who share the same interests!”
  • “It is a great get together for fellow audi lovers/enthusiasts and good fun for people of all ages. If you enjoy driving and talking about all things Audi you will definetely not be dissappointed.”

Save the Date!

The 2012 Frank Beddor Nationals will be held on July 4th – 8th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event will be a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Walter Röhrl’s victory at the Pikes Peak Hillclimb Race.

To commemorate this victory, ACNA members will be lining up at the starting line (of the 2012 Hillclimb Race) to watch as racers rev their engines, embracing the mighty challenge as they quest for victory, just as Walter Röhrl did 25 years ago. Planned activities include scenic drives, golf, member concourse, Thursday reception Friday Fan Fest, Saturday evening Banquet and the grand finale – the Pikes Peak race – on Sunday.

There’s much more to this event, however. The area is packed with many other attractions. Check out pages 40 and 41 of the Fall 2011 Quattro Quarterly for more information.

Audi Club October Events

APR BBQ

On the heels of Petit Le Mans, the Audi Club has a very busy October ahead of them. First, on Saturday the 8th, APR is hosting their BBQ and Customer Appreciation Day which features a Car Show with Hundreds of VWs, Audis and Porsches, APR’s Famous Stage III Raffle, Free Lunch and much much more! The BBQ offers activities all day, so come for a few hours or stay through the entire day.

Then, on October 13rd, we will be hosting our final Quarterly Club Meeting for 2011. The meeting will be held at Nalley Audi (11100 Alpharetta Hwy, Roswell, GA 30076) at 7:00pm. Meetings are a great opportunity to meet new people, learn about upcoming events, provide feedback and check out the newest models in Audi’s lineup. Please RSVP if you plan on attending.

Finally, on October 22nd, we will embark on a Fall Foliage Drive through Central Georgia. While not as hilly as the familiar roads up in north Georgia, the roads in FDR State Park still offer great views. This is a day trip, but you’re more than welcome to spend the night and make a weekend of the event. So, bring the kids and your camera, and we’ll see you there!

Another successful driving school at Road Atlanta!

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

The Audi Club of Georgia participated in the Peachtree BMWCCA Driving School at Road Atlanta last weekend. Thanks to our strategic partnership, our members are able to attend their events at BMWCCA pricing, and they even allocate special parking for the Audis. The weekend was a great deal of fun, the weather was perfect and we all learned a LOT! One of our members, Chris M came up to visit on Saturday and filmed a little bit of the action. Check it out!

If you’ve never been to a driving school before and are curious, we encourage you to come check them out. They are very structured events designed to improve your skills as a driver in a safe environment.
